Shiplake College pupils and staff took time to reflect on their own physical and mental health last week, during Wellbeing Week – and, at the end of the week, were treated to a very special virtual guest - Mr Motivator!
Talented Fashion and Textiles students from King’s Ely are celebrating success in two competitions. Two students have been highly commended in the Young Fashion Designer UK contest and selected to exhibit designs in the Young Norfolk Arts Festival.
Ealing schools, St Augustine’s Priory and the Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls, together with the Sacred Heart High School in Hammersmith, have joined together for a week of innovative virtual activities around the process of applying to university.
Musicians from King’s Ely have joined forces (virtually) to record a song in honour of the work being carried out by NHS and frontline workers. Around 60 pupils feature in the recording of ‘Like A Rainbow Shining’.
Students and staff from St Columba's College in St Albans have been volunteering for the NHS and in local the community during COVID-19, including shopping for elderly neighbours and tidying up Watford General Hospital's grounds.
Claremont Fan Court School’s fundraising campaign in support of the Princess Alice Hospice ran during lockdown and raised more than £4,000 to support the vital compassionate care for patients the Hospice provides.
King's Ely has been able to make and donate more than 800 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) face shields to frontline and key workers in the region, thanks to the hard work of Patrick Carberry, Head of Design and Technology at the school.
Moreton Hall School Sixth Form student Molly is fundraising for St John Ambulance by running a sponsored marathon. The money raised goes towards buying medical supplies, paying for PPE, providing training and running ambulances.
King’s Ely student, Paige Newell, has been crowned the winner of this year’s ILFORD PHOTO UK Student Photography Competition – making it the third year running that a King’s Ely student has won the contest.
