The performance was the culmination of 6 weeks work and forms part of Moreton Hall’s Community Arts Programme where primary schools from Shropshire and the Welsh borders are invited to attend performance classes given by specialist teachers. Moreton Hall Drama teacher, Michael Jenkins commented:

“The students are superb. It’s heart-warming to see all the children progress and in particular boys who were initially shy, blossom to take featured roles and sing with aplomb!”

The children’s theatrical journey was evident as they transformed into Roald Dahl’s devilish witches and celebrated Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory delivering a golden ticket for the audience.

Head of Selattyn Primary School Claire Morgan enthused:

“Working collaboratively with Moreton Hall is a fabulous opportunity for the children to be with different teachers who have such charisma and energy.

“Following on from Selattyn’s truly inclusive ethos,we saw that every child in the class has fully embraced the teaching and learning.

“The children have grown in confidence and self esteem whilst in such a challenging and fun environment.”
