Glenn-Richard Boyce, a pupil at Bournemouth Collegiate School has just returned to School having won the Ten Dance World Championship in Italy this December. This would be impressive enough if the 18 year-old was competing in the U19 or U21 age groups, but all the more so for being against adults. Glenn explained “Ten Dance is a really fun discipline because it combines Latin and Ballroom both of which I specialise in.”

It would be fair to say that dancing is in Glenn’s blood – his grandparents were World Ballroom Champions in 1975 and the very first winners of the British National Amateur Ballroom Championship; whilst his parents combine their dance teaching with competitions all over the world. Glenn’s parents teach at his grandmother’s dance studio Nice N Easy, in Bournemouth, and Glenn says that whilst he draws inspiration from professional dancers, he is also inspired by some of the younger members of the studio and enjoys watching them grow.

Glenn will be Ballroom dancing in the upcoming UK Open Championships, held at Bournemouth’s BIC, once again against adults.

Glenn manages to combine competing at the top of his discipline with maintaining academic high standards, and whatever he chooses to do next I have no doubt he will be an absolute success.”
