The new swimming pool at City of London Freemen’s School in Ashtead has been awarded three RIBA awards for the South East Region. The new pool that was built by Hawkins / Brown won RIBA South East Award 2018, RIBA South East Client of the Year Award and RIBA South East Sustainability Award 2018.

“We are delighted with these awards,” said Headmaster Roland Martin. “The School is overwhelmed by the beauty and quality of the new swimming pool – it is a fantastic new asset for our School and local community.”

The 25-metre pool was opened by the Lord Mayor of London in December 2017, after the previous pool was destroyed in a fire in 2014.

The RIBA awards and prizes are regarded internationally as a mark of excellence, recognising the best architecture, architects, research and students.
