We were delighted to be invited to the opening of the STEM Space at the Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust on Friday 21 June, an event which also celebrated the first trans-Atlantic flight of Alcock and Brown.

The Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust was formed in 1981 to promote and preserve the history and engineering excellence of Rolls-Royce. As part of the exhibition space a STEM centre has been opened which contains information and hands-on activities related to flight and engineering.

The boys took part in various activities, including a detailed look at a jet engine with the help of augmented reality. This was followed by a tour of the engines on display led by one of the Heritage Trust volunteers who had spent most of his working life at Rolls-Royce
