Derby Grammar School pupils have been busy in December turning their festive celebrations into fundraising activities for Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity(DBHC).

On Sunday 2 December staff and pupils took part in the annual Jingle Jog around Markeaton Park. On Monday 17 December the whole school wore their Christmas jumpers and donated money towards DBHC for the privilege.

A grand total of £529.39 was raised which Year 4 teacher Mrs Jackson presented to the DBHC along with Daniel and Ted from Year 4 who were two of the pupils who took part in the Jingle Jog.

Mrs Jackson leads on the DBHC fundraising for the school and said: “We have been fundraising for our local hospital for a number of years now. The Junior boys particularly enjoy it when Lambie comes in to school to pay them a visit.

We donate our money raised to the children’s wards, and it was wonderful this year for us to visit the hospital and present the money personally to the ward staff and Lambie.”
