Cake sale presentation for Macmillan’s Biggest Coffee Morning

The 6th Form Charity Committee this week had the privilege of presenting the local branch of Macmillan Support, a cheque for £387.70.

Wisbech Grammar School recently hosted a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Support Charity. The charity runs an annual event for individuals to host their own coffee morning, with the goal being to host the ‘world’s biggest coffee morning’ across the nation.

The entire School had been invited to buy cakes from the Refectory at break time on Friday 27 September. The Refectory was decorated with balloons and bunting, and the tables were groaning under the weight of the delicious homemade treats. It was a great success and there was a real community feel in the Refectory as everyone devoured the delicious cakes and cookies.

The Sixth Form Charity Committee this week had the privilege of presenting the local branch of Macmillan Support with a cheque for £387.70 raised from the cake sale. The Charity Committee feel that it is very important to give back to their local community and they are pleased that this year the money raised is going to go directly to the local Wisbech branch of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Kate Taylor, Head of Sixth Form said: "Being able to present the cheque to Macmillan this week is a real pleasure as we know how vital such fundraising is to the work that they do."
