Bournemouth Collegiate School strengthens links with Bath Rugby

It's an exciting time for the Rugby provision at Bournemouth Collegiate School – two members of the department will be working even more closely with their School Partner, and Premiership Rugby team, Bath Rugby.

It's an exciting time for the Rugby provision at Bournemouth Collegiate School – two members of the department will be working even more closely with their School Partner, and Premiership Rugby team, Bath Rugby.

Mike Pope, Director of Rugby at Bournemouth Collegiate School has been announced as the Lead DPP (Developing Player Programme) coach at Bath Rugby, which he will manage alongside his School commitments and being the Mens 1st XV Rugby Coach for local side, Bournemouth Rugby.

Richard Harrison-Poole, Director of Sport at BCS commented "We are delighted for Mike's success - it is truly well-deserved. Mike is a phenomenal coach, and the Bath Rugby DPP is lucky to have such an asset on their team."

Year 9 pupil Luca Annicchiarico will be joining his coach at Bath Rugby, having recently been selected for the programme which is designed to interact with and complement school, club and county playing programmes. In turn, young players will be exposed tofurther development opportunities without the conflict of competition.

BCS has recently opened up the Rugby Academy to external players who are able to attend training sessions, amongst other development opportunities, even if they do not attend the School.
