Clayesmore's U14 Boys are Dorset Hockey Champions

Clayesmore's U14 Boys Hockey Team have won the Dorset County Championships, winning all of their five matches. This qualified the team for the U14 Regional Finals in March.

Clayesmore is celebrating the news of their U14 Boys Hockey Team becoming Dorset champions. They played against Bryanston, Canford, Gillingham, Poole Grammar and Sherborne, and won all the matches, scoring 12 goals in total and only conceding one.

Their Head Coach, Mr Chris Middle, praised the boys for their brilliant performance and preparation:

"For such a young team to play so well together after just a few weeks is very impressive indeed. There is a strong tradition of hockey in Dorset schools and so to win the County title is a real feather in their collective cap. As anybody who has played in a tournament will know, to win every game is very difficult indeed. They displayed a maturity, team ethic and sense of purpose not often seen, even in far more experienced hockey players."

Turning his sight to the U14 Regional Finals in March, he continued: "Now they will have to pick it all up again for the Regional round that comes next. I know they are all really looking forward to the challenge, and opportunity to play even better hockey."
