Derby Grammar School pupil, Adam Gentles, is celebrating his win in the 2019 Derbyshire Futures Golf Tour.

The competition took place on seven different courses throughout Derbyshire over the summer months. As well as winning the tour he was also crowned champion for both the Gross and Nett categories.

The awards presentation took place at Breadsall Golf Club in October where he was presented with his trophies.

Adam, aged 12 and from Bretby, said: “I sort of knew I might have won, but was really happy when my name was read out at the Presentation Evening. The hardest of the seven courses was definitely Kedleston as it had the most challenging and longest holes. Now the season has finished I’ll be practising hard over the winter on the course and at the driving range ready for next season. The competitions start in the spring.”

Adam is hoping to represent the County U14s as well as entering a number of national competitions in the 2020 season.
