Speed cubing record - Thomas Visaya-Neville wins gold for Ireland!

Thomas Visaya-Neville is the new Headboy at St Columba's College Prep. However, he has other hidden talents winning gold for Ireland in Speed Cubing!

Thomas' record dates back to 2014 – it is very unusual in the ‘speed cubing world’ to hold a record for so long and records are constantly being broken.  Thomas is taking a break from speed cubing at the moment and says he will only go back to it when his record is broken!  Thomas is also ranked highly at other events too including Rubik’s Cube, Skewb, 4x4 cube and 5x5 cube.

Speedcubing (also known as speedsolving) is the activity of solving a variety of twisty puzzles, the most famous being the Rubik’s Cube, as quickly as possible. For most puzzles, solving entails performing a series of moves that alters a scrambled puzzle into a state in which every face of the puzzle is a single, solid colour.

Let’s hope Thomas keep his Irish National record for a while longer!
